The pinnacle of the show was ‘Wade in the Shade’, which was the B-side of ‘Shirl’ undertaken by The Fingers’ alter-ego band Daddy Lindberg.

One of the Radio London DJ's (Keith Skues) had chosen this record as his climber but if failed to dent the Radio London chart. We did however; get to no. 32 with All Kinds Of People. Ricky Mills (backed by The Fingers) appeared in the Radio London chart a few months later as Daddy Lindberg. (Shirl was the record in question.).

Daddy Lindberg was the new recording name for the Fingers (see Fab 22nd January). The songwriting team of Carter/Lewis penned Shirl and former Finger (would that be index or little?) John Bobin (#), (see Fingers feature) co-wrote the Pall Mall-published B-side Wade in the Shade with some other 'digits' – Ricky Mills and Peter Ducky.

They spent most of the session recording Shirl, while Wade In The Shade was considered a throwaway; made-up and recorded in the last 20 minutes. Though the single sold poorly and the band later split up, in the 70s the Wade In The Shade became a sought after psych gem and remains sought-after. Collectors are willing to pay from £ to £
